If you use cages to catch raccoons in an attic, you will only catch the Mother. What about the babies? Sometimes there is a nest and the babies can easily be located and removed. Sometimes you cannot find the nest and competitors that use cage traps, will often have to wait until the babies start whimpering (about a week after Mama is caught) when they are at the point of death. Hot attic, no water, food, or Mothers milk. By this time most of the litter is already dead. This can be avoided! The other option is to wait until there is a smell in the attic or home.
